What is the Chicken Pot Pie Field Days And Campout And Zachathlon?

Short answer: This event is a 24 hour festival on the side of small mountain in southern NH that features the music of Zach Deputy and several other acts plus there's the Zachathlon. Apart from his musical skills, Zach is a prolific disc golfer (please don't say frolf). Local event organizer CK and he have conspired to put together an all-ages collection of somewhat casual sports which collectively become amusingly competitive as a Zachathlon. Everyone attending is automatically invited and encouraged to compete. Disc golf will be the core sport but expect other events such as mini golf, corn hole, lawn darts and more. This will be like the best day at summer camp! In fact we encourage you to bring your festival camping gear and stay the night. Both wooded and open spaces about on the 70 acre property and we will provide sanitary facilities for your comfort.

Not everybody is familiar with Zach of course. Well to explain we poached this right from his web site:

To bring this sound to the stage, the big, impossibly upbeat South Carolinian with the infectious smile puts on a solo show– enhanced by looping technology– that is essentially a one man dance party offering up what he calls “Island-infused, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Gospel-Ninja-Soul” to the enthusiastic crowds of dancers who flock to clubs from coast-to-coast. It is these late night dance parties— more than 250 per year– that have made Zach Deputy one of the hottest up-and-coming performers on the camping festival circuit and “jam band” scene.

And of the Chicken Pot Pie thing deserves a little explanation despite all chicken references be automatically supreme. Maybe this video will help:

 Zach will be playing a 2 hour electric set on the stage of Rock Maple Woods in Strafford, NH on July 15th. He will then treat us to his somewhat rare acoustic storyteller show. Don't miss this.

Now if that isn't enough Southern goodness for you, we also have the Boogaloo Swamis who for decades have managed to channel a Cajun and Zydeco party vibe though based in Boston. 

And just before them we've got the Loopholes of Love. This three piece arrangement consists of the lovely Mary Fagan  joined by a couple of The Crunchy Western boys to craft this wonderfully retro alt-swing.
